Openings for computer trained graduates are too many and fast
expanding. In order to meet the above, the department has
separate laboratory facilities for UG and PG Courses with the
latest requirements and a well connected local area network as a
back bone. Apart from it, separate Unix and Windows-NT servers
are provided to quench the thirst of the students. In order to
upgrade the students' knowledge with the changing environment, a
separate online internet accessing facility is provided. To
achieve individual attention, each student is provided with one
man-one machine during the practical hours.
Department of Computer Science
The department of Computer Science offers two UG courses
namely B.Sc. Computer Science and B.C.A. (Bachelor of
Computer Application) and 2 PG courses namely M.C.A.
(Master of Computer Application) and M.Sc. Computer Science. The
M.C.A. Course is approved by the All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
The application of computers in the modern world is unlimited.
Computers are extensively used in research and development
besides their routine use in commerce. As the use of computers
is manifold, the demand for trained professionals is also
increasing.
A separate hardware laboratory is there to solve the purpose of
assembly language programming which includes microprocessor
trainer kits and interlacing devices. To interact with the
global environment, periodic inter-collegiate seminars and
symposia are conducted. For the benefit of outgoing students,
the institution's placement cell has tied up with some of the
leading software houses for conducting regular campus
interviews.
The admission to M.C.A. Course is based on merit through
entrance examination followed by personal interviews as per the
norms laid down by the AlCTE, New Delhi.
Internet Lab
PEE GEE Arts & Science College connected with 8 Mbps
dedicated wireless broadband (first time in India) line to
connect its Computer labs, to enable unlimited access to
Internet round the clock. Video conferencing, Voice Chat, Net
Phone etc.
Department of Biotechnology
The department of Biotechnology offers prestigious life
science courses of two year PG and three year UG programmers.
Biotechnology is the fastest growing applied science of this
century. It can be simply defined as the fusion of Microbiology,
Biochemistry and Engineering in an integrated fashion and is
aimed at using micro-organisms and cells to manufacture useful
products.
The Biotechnology boom is due to Genetic Engineering, which
gives the power of inserting foreign genes into an organism by
the scientists. This insertion of foreign gene enables us to get
desirable traits, without transferring other genes and their
desirable traits. Genetic engineering can provide more effective
innovations to the society ranging from pharmaceutical products,
new approaches to energy generation, food production, pollution
control, diagnosis, to therapy of genetic disorders genes into
an organism by the scientists. This insertion of foreign gene

genes and their desirable traits. Genetic engineering can
provide more effective innovations to the society ranging from

Biotechnology with a wide application and forceful advantages,
is now being adopted virtually by every industry including
pharmaceutical industry, textile industry, environmental clean
up, household products, food processing and forensis.
Biotechnology also offers insights into new branches such as
Bionics, Photonics and Bio informatics which will be a fusion of
Information Technology and Life Sciences.
Department of Microbiology
The department offers an UG Course B.Sc. Microbiology and a
PG Course M.Sc. Applied Microbiology. Microbiology is the study
of micro organisms, which are of immense importance to mankind.
This branch of science gives its practitioners, the opportunity
to be in contact with all other natural sciences and thus
contributing in many ways to the betterment of human life. The
laboratories are fully equipped with all the instruments heeded
with a competent faculty. This branch of study makes it possible
to diagnose most of the infectious diseases precisely.
Department of Chemistry and Management
The department offers M.Sc. course which is an
inter-disciplinary course blending both Chemistry
al Chemistry and Management deals with the application of
industrial chemistry and management. Industrial Chemistry and
Management applies principles of chemistry in the large-scale
manufacture of different elements and compounds and also
extraction of metals. Because of the diversity and complexity of
chemical processing, a broad study gives a powerful approach of
wide usefulness in designing new manufacturing process.
This course also includes management related courses like HR,
Marketing, and Finance, which can be applied to the industry.
This prestigious industrial oriented course is offered at PG
level with well-equipped laboratory and library facilities.
Department of Biochemistry
Biochemistry is the study of life at molecular level. This
branch of science is the most significant aspect of natural
sciences as it is the key to the diagnosis of many life
threatening diseases and solution for their cure. It is the most
modern and rapidly advancing life science today. Its frontiers
extend in all directions of modern science and technology,
thereby becoming the common ground of inter disciplinary medical
and biological sciences like biotechnology, microbiology,
genetics, immunology and bioinformatics. No other subject has as
much application as Biochemistry to the discipline of medicine,
health, veterinary, agriculture, Bio-engineering and technology.
It is therefore of utmost importance that individuals embarking
on a career in biomedical sciences be well versed in
Biochemistry. The department of Biochemistry offers three-years
UG and two year PG Courses. The Scope of Biochemistry is vast as
life itself. There is a vast scope for the graduate and Post
graduates of Biochemistry in employment market.
Department of Mathematics
Mathematics is the king of all sciences. It has got many
applications in all walks of life. In the computer world,
mathematics is the connecting link as many logical ideas are got
with the help of mathematical concepts. Mathematics helps in
solving the mental ability and reasoning problems in the
competitive exams. A Mathematical background can provide scope
for better job openings in Banking sector, Accounts, Research,
IT industry, etc.
Department of Commerce The department offers an UG
Course B.Com., and a PG Course M.Com. The world is witnessing
the economies getting integrated. The dependence of one economy
on the rest of the economies has become the rule of the day.
International trade-has become prim&move in the nation's
development after the establishment of WTO along with the
acceptance of new economic policies. The nation needs competent
professionals/executives who can formulate policies and chart
out the ways for promoting exports. We need people who can
understand the nation's policies and can prepare documents which
are essential for exports and imports. Employment opportunities
are wider for those who have knowledge of the theoretical and
practical aspects of global business and M.Com will definitely
