Sri Balaji Educational Trust has started Padmavathy College of Physiotherapy under the G.O ms No. 738 Health and Family welfare department dated 31.05.1993 permitting an yearly intake of 50 students. This college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University under the official proceedings Rc No. 22915/Affin (3)/93 dated 21.12.1993. This college was subsequently recognized by the Indian Association of physiotherapists.

This Science Physiotherapy, is a field of physical therapy, it is as old as human civilization, but recently it has gained much popularity among the medical man; It is a profession ancient technics made modern by the application of scientific technics much to the relief ailing disabled, inferred patients. It is a greatly developed categorically modernized science of treating disability, injury and disease by external physical means such as electricity, heat. light, massage exercise etc.

Those who are physically impaired and cripple and lane. Those whose body parts are injured or damaged or wounded. Those who are affected by physiological disturbance - which cannot be cured by the administration of medicines alone, are made to undergo physical therapy by the external application of electricity, heat, massage or regular proper exercise in order to get desired relief from disability, injury and disease either congenital or acquired after birth.

This department is housed in the main building on the southern wing. The lecture Halls and labs are well ventilated airy and well furnished. There are large number of modern equipments for different types of exercise suggested for different type of ailments.

The members of the teaching staff are highly qualified and greatly experiences. They give intensive clinical training to the students. This college offers BPT and MPT degrees
