The Course
Diploma in Teacher Education (D.T.Ed.). The course is a
co-educational one and it follows
non-semester system. The Course is approved by the Government of
India's National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE),
Bangalore. The medium of instruction is Tamil. The duration of
the course is 2 years. The course is also approved by
Directorate Teacher Education, Research & training (DTERT),
Tamil Nadu.

It is prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Teaching Practice
Teaching
Practice All trainees shall undergo an intensive teaching
practice cum observation classes for 40 days in each year in the
schools allotted.
Eligibility
Applicants should have passed the +2 , H.Sc. or its equivalent
with a minimum of 45% of n aggregate. For S.C. and S.T.
applicants, a pass in the examination.
Age Limit
Applicants should have completed 17 years and should not
exceed 25 years as on 1st June. For S.C. and S.T. applicants,
the age limit is 3O years. The maximum age limit is 40 years for
orphans, destitute and widows.
