 Sapthagiri College of Management Studies is a self-financing institution and it dates from 1993-'94  sponsored by four educational trusts:

Lord Venkateswara Educational Trust

Sri Govinda Gounder memorial Educational Trust

Sri Balaji Educational Trust

Sri Pachaiammal Educational Trust.

The Chairman of all these trusts and the Founder of this institution is Mr.M.G.Sekar B.A. B.L, Ex.M.P and MLA. In his person everyone comes upon a philanthropist ripple with excitement. Bound by his conscience and engaged by his own promise he feels that he is under solemn obligation to open colleges. His wealth widened his vision and deepened his interest in humanity. This is a god like charity and providential promoting. He invests his earned wealth in education and receives real pleasure from the investment and he does not put his trust in money but puts his money in trust.

Management studies:

 In a busy world of business, and in the days of increased intellectual and material wealth students are trained to effectively interact, to promote business prospects, to develop an ability to control, regulate , and head the administrative systems of every industrial concern to increase the output and to improve the quality of the products, to integrate human activities by maintaining human relationships between the employer and the employee. This college trains the student to effectively handle the situations , and to solve the problems as and when they crop up, to place their point of views. It develops their interest in the business affair by involving them, instilling in them confidence and making them responsible man of their areas of interests, an adapt administrator. The trained student build a successful and rewarding life by unlocking their hidden potential and create an action plan for the rest of their life. Building a positive attitude the students become a contributing member of the society and asset to their nation .

This college offers both intellectual and value based education that influences the heart, mind and soul and shapes the attitude of the young man who acquire an ability to approach every problem optimistically and to answer to unanswered questions to strategically apply their knowledge translating it into wisdom, ensuring success, to achieve the desired end, to look at the sunny side of everything, and work only for the best. It also makes the students to be enthusiastic about the success of others and forget the failures and to press on to the greater achievements of the future.

This college is housed in one of the wings of the main building, with adequate number of spacious, ventilated beautifully designed and well planned rooms, lecture halls, and rooms for group discussion and meetings and auditorium for conducting symposium and seminars inviting experts from other institutions.

The teachers are highly learned and experienced man of great merits who make attractive and intelligible what to pupils at first appear repulsive and interesting and induce the students to think to distinguish to find out themselves, sometimes opening the way and at other times it for themselves to open.
